It Seems To Always Let You Down 3/20 A.L.

Furiously typing

Son napping

Small window of time

Graduate school class starting in 5 minutes

Wedding hair appointment in 1 hour

Furiously typing

Baby stirring on the monitor

Grad school class playing in the background

Wedding hair appointment 40 minutes

Furiously typing

Do I pause to save?

No

Do I think to look at my connectivity?

No

Does the Zoom call go quiet? … yes.

The internet is down. Sneak in to my son’s room to reset… nothing

Try to reconnect

Nothing.

This post is a day late because my hour window closed 30 minutes too soon.

  1. Well written in short bursts with internal questioning.
Some day you will re-read this piece and think, “I can’t believe all that I was getting done at that time in my life.”
I love the underlying suspense of your son napping nearby, then stirring, then you sneak in to check the internet.
this piece makes me more impressed that you are tackling this challenge- well done!
